Aconcagua Updates
Tomorrow morning I board a bus to the Pentitentes Ski Resort in the Andes. For the 21 days which follow I hope to make my way to the summit of Mt. Aconcagua, just shy of 23,000 feet with 10 other expedition members and three guides. While my 12″ Powerbook is a svelte little laptop it is 4.9lbs I do not plan on carrying in my already overloaded backpack and the opportunity to connect to a network is non-existent. Our expedition does have a satellite phone and daily reports will be filed with Rodrigo, the head of Aventuras Patagonicas. He plans to forward the updates by email and they should appear on rideabout.com.
For those who are curious to see what I’ll encounter in the upcoming weeks you can watch this short Aventuras Patagonicas video highlighting one team’s bid for the summit.
