Willy and chuck met 10 years ago when they worked together at Swiss Bank Corporation at the Chicago Board of Trade. After Willy moved on to another job they kept in touch and got together occasionally for an evening of pints. When Chuck sent an email telling his friends he was planning to take three months to go trekking in Nepal and asking if anyone wanted to join him no one responded. No one but Willy that is and with no time to spare because Chuck was leaving in just three days.

They had a great time together in Nepal and after trekking most of the Annapurna Circuit and the Annapurna Sanctuary they came back to Chicago looking for more of the adventure. It did not take long before they were adventure racing, biking in Ireland, traveling in Costa Rica and more.

Riding the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route has been a recurring topic of discussion over pints at The Map Room over the past several years. So now as Willy prepares to get married in early 2008 and as Chuck looks to move to the Pacific Northwest they decided the Summer of 2007 was perfect to make the GDMBR happen and so on May 23rd the next adventure begins in Antelope Wells, New Mexico.

chuck clark is a technologist who lives in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago. He is currently on a leave of absence from Orbitz. He spent February through May of 2007 in South America exploring Patagonia and made an attempt to summit Mt. Aconcagua before making a brief stop in Chicago before hopping on his mountain bike.When he’s not traveling chuck thrives on being outdoors, loves using his Mac and enjoys drinking microbrews.   Willy has a split personality.  He loves technology, but also loves to get away from it when possible. So when Go2Call.com was acquired by Delta 3 he jumped at the chance to use the time to ride his bike across the country. After this adventure is over he is excited to start an even better one with Paula.
